Project Pop Renewal Pt 4
I honestly thought my Project Pop Renewal was completed with Part 3 but oh how wrong I was! I realized very recently that I am running out of room for my Movies & More Pops and I have more pre-ordered/on the way! So I needed to think fast and figure something out to make more room before I become overwhelmed. There’s also the fact that I promised myself a long time ago that I would cap myself at 300 Pops and with that number now reaching 279… I decided two things, I am going to sell the majority of my DC Heroes Pops (I’ve never been the biggest DC fan anyway) which will cut my collection down by 15 Pops and I will hang up a new 36″ shelf for my aforementioned Movies & More Pops. That should make some room for some of those pre-orders! I hope… Wait, that’s still only 36 Pops until I hit the 300 mark! Shit. I might have to break my promise sometime next year… if not before. I’m going to need to get more foam bricks to build more risers, aren’t I? Ah!!! One thing at a time…
First off, I took got all of of the DC Heroes Pops together that I have decided to part with which ended up being all three of my Aquaman Pops and all but one of my Wonder Woman Pops. I’ll keep that one Wonder Woman Pop since I do like that movie enough to keep one Pop and all of my Batman ’66 Pops because I love Batman ’66 and always will! The rest carefully went back into their well cared for boxes and got ready to be parted with. You can see the Pops I am trying to sell either at right or on the Pops For Sale page. Prices are listed on the photos and shipping is $4.50 per Pop or contact me for combined shipping or to buy the whole lots.
With those sorted, I then set about hanging my new 36″ shelf above my old entertainment center where I keep both my Movies & More Pops and my Video Games Pops. I keep the Movies & More Pops on top of the entertainment center while the Video Games Pops go in the glass cabinet on the side. I had to move all of the Movies & More Pops off the entertainment center’s top so I could hang the shelf. That was quite the chore! After locating a step ladder that was the tallest we have but still not quite tall enough but would have to do, I stretched as far as I could and set about measuring for where to put the shelf. I hung too high on my first try. Dammit! I had to take it completely down and try again. Luckily the Pops will hide the mistake holes once I get them up there on display. Yay! On my second try I still got the shelf a little too high in my opinion but I was not in the mood to try again so I left it as-is. I then found two already finished one-level risers I had made (forgot where they came from) and put them on the shelf. After that, I put all of my Doctor Who Pops on the shelf with some room to spare. I haven’t decided what else to put up there. Maybe my other TV Pops? Not sure yet.
Moving my Doctor Who Pops up to that new shelf has freed up the two bottom shelves in my entertainment center’s glass cabinet for more video game Pops. (Here’s hoping they release new Mass Effect Pops along with the Legendary Edition!!) Moving the 15 Wonder Woman and Aquaman Pops to get them ready for selling has freed up almost the entire center shelf of my entertainment center. Now I have more room for Movies & More Pops there. Finally! I’m still a little more limited on room than I’d like to be. Looks like I may have to do some more thinking down the line.
Once all that was done with, it was time to put all my Movies & More Pops back on their risers on top of the entertainment center. That took me a bit of time to do. LOL It may look like there’s plenty of empty space there but looks can be deceiving. That space is already allocated for several pre-orders arriving from now until July! It won’t be long before the entire top of my entertainment center is filled with Pops. I’ll be needing all that extra shelf space sooner rather than later. I just need to rethink some of my Pop arrangements/sorting to make room for them all…
Now that should be the end of Project Pop Renewal. From now on, I should only be adding/subtracting from the collection and not majorly overhauling it again. I hope. So I now will close this post and call it a night as I am exhausted (I did more than just this today, btw, I also fell and hit concrete plus my car door but that’s another story). Thank you for viewing and see you next time.
